Royal Ascot With Closet London

I love Royal Ascot! From the moment I saw Audrey Hepburn in a lace fishtail gown and oversized hat as Eliza Dolittle in my Fair Lady I was completely hooked. The glamour, the tradition, the pomp, as one of our most celebrated social events of the year, it’s no on wonder fashion editors across the globe wait with bated breath to see what the A - list and Royals finally choose to parade themselves in. Perhaps it’s the Royal seal of approval that heightens the drama in the fashion stakes, however standing out from the crowd can be somewhat of an achievement given the meetings strict dress code with many opting to show off their styling prowess in more elegant, vintage silhouettes. The Duchess of Cambridge is always a winner for me. From her lace Alexander McQueen dresses of previous years to this weeks powder blue Elie Saab and Philip Tracey ensemble, there’s always a nod to classic styles of past decades.

I have been lucky enough to attend the meeting for several years now and this year i’m collaborating with Closet London.

Closet London

Famed for their go-to dress designs, gorgeous separates, tailored jackets and seasonal outerwear; the brand creates everything from their collection within their design house in London with a strong focus on ethical manufacturing.

At Closet London, we make contemporary womenswear that tells a story. We are loved for our elegant shapes and stunning prints, and our passionate team of designers and pattern-cutters design and make garments in London, just as they have for over 20 years.

We are inspired by the confident and feminine style of our Closet Woman.  Busy lunch meetings, Thursday's date night, a close friend’s wedding; we know that she is always on the lookout for something which she can wear her way. Each of our collections tells a fresh and inspiring story and we offer a quirky, thoughtful experience that bring lots of personality to everything we do. Closet London is more than the dress you wear.

LFW-Shop The Look

During London Fashion Week I attended the Aspinal SS18 presentation wearing Australian designer Rebecca Vallance' orange mid length dress. I love the dress not only for its bright colour but for its gorgeous shaping. I teamed the dress with classic black accessories to allow the dress to be the statement piece.

LFW-Shop The Look

I recently attended the Jasper Conran SS18 runway show at this seasons London Fashion Week wearing one of my favourite dresses from the Topshop Unique AW17 collection. Cut on the bias and featuring a cold shoulder and thigh split detail its a great dress to take you seamlessly from day to night. The dark navy colour and thick ribbon belt add a touch of elegance to the edgy shape of the dress and teamed with minimal jewellery and staple black stiletto heels, its the perfect ensemble for a sophisticated yet sexy look.

I accessorised with classic black suede pumps from Jimmy Choo and this great fringed leather bag from Diane Von Furstenburg and finished the look with simple gold jewellery from Kate Spade. Shop my exact look below.

Pink to Party

I recently attended the launch of Brasserie Abode in Manchester and wore this pretty pink dress from Foxiedox.

I predicted earlier in the year that pink was going to be the colour of the season as we saw a lot of it on the SS17 runways and in true fashion form those looks have filtered down to the high street.

Peonie, blush and pastel colours combined with the structured texture of lace create a look that is feminine and pretty and perfect for summer parties and occasions. Its also a great look for a date night as its much softer than its red counterpart (unless that is you're wanting to go all out which case go for head to toe scarlett!).

I particularly love the combination of black and pink as its a great alternative to classic monochrome and creates a nostalgic look as it harks back to the elegant yet fun fashions of the 1960's. Who can forget Jackie Kennedy's love affair with pink!

In keeping with this theme I accessorised my dress with delicate black heels from Sophia Webster and my classic black satin clutch from Lanvin. To finish the look I wore my hair half up in a messy, slightly backcombed topknot with volumous loose curls and finished with winged eyeliner and lashes to pay homage to the classic 60's look.

Summer Nights

With temperatures soaring this summer its the perfect excuse to work classic coral and gold hues for a truly tropical look. Combine with beachy waves and ultra bronzed make up and even the most structured prom dress can look more relaxed. I recently wore this Dorothy Perkins Coral Camisole version to an awards event.

I teamed it with my favourite (and comfortable) nude Zara pumps and Swarovski and Accessorize gold jewellery for a summery take on the classic cocktail dress.
